About the Guild
The Triangle Calligraphers' Guild was established in 1979 to promote the lettering arts, and to provide a source of mutual support for those who are interested in calligraphy, painting, bookbinding, lettering, illumination, old manuscripts and history and traditions of writing, letter forms, tools and materials. Our members live in the Triangle area and throughout eastern North Carolina.
We are associated with like-minded people throughout the Carolinas, the nation and the world through our close relationship with the Carolina Lettering Arts Society (CLAS). We are calligraphers of all levels of interest and skill, from beginners and dabblers to full-time pros, and we all learn from each other. Everyone interested in the book arts, from whatever perspective, and at any level of proficiency and experience, is encouraged to join us.
