Books and Wings is an IRS approved 501(c)3 non-profit, whose mission is to support libraries and
education on Guatemala's Costa Sur (South Coast).
Our interest in Guatemala comes from our having adopted Antonio in 1993. In 1999, we went back
to Guatemala for the first time since the adoption. We studied Spanish at the Probigua language
school in Antigua. We chose Probigua because it takes its earnings teaching Spanish to foreigners
and helps start libraries throughout the Republic. In 2001, working with Probigua and a US non-
profit, Child-Aid, we founded a library in the town of Tiquisate.
Since then, the library has grown tremendously. Books and Wings continues to work in Tiquisate,
and is active in several other communities in the Costa Sur.
Our pledge to our donors: all moneys we receive will be used for the direct support of the project.
We take no money for our US administrative costs, fundraising, or travel expenses.
