History:
The Amazing Squid Production Company can trace its roots back to the small startup company of Greg and Nate in 1986 (or 1987 - we're not quite sure). Their first film was titled "Slimeoids", and despite their small budget and obvious lack of resources, the movie was a huge success.Greg and Nate took an introspective break from movie making, and returned to the camera in 1991/1992 (over New Year's Break). It was during this time that the epic "Slimeoids II" was shot. This also marked the beginning of the duo's branching out to non-Lego related cinematography, with the creation of the "Geraldo" film (sparked by an off comment made by Greg's then-girlfriend Abby), a Bill the Foot movie, the much loved "Sea Monkeys" commercial, and a commercial for "Dead-Live-Things Cat Food".
From that point on, Greg and Nate were world-known for their attention to detail and award-winning screen writing. Their work has continued through the present time, with many new films on the drawing board.
What movies have been made?
So far, Greg and Nate have put over 5 hours of film into production form. These are broken up into three video volumes.
I want in! How can I be a cool Squid-ite?
In order to maintain the high standards set forth for The Amazing Squid Production Company, our law offices have put together an exacting contract that must be read, agreed to, and signed by anyone who is offered a position. Auditions are rarely held, since TASPC prefers to use talent scouts to bring new people into the fold.
There must be a fan club, right?
Yes, there is. Membership is determined by either Greg or Nate, and is subject to a strict set of rules:
- All movies must have been viewed in their entirety.
- The prospective member must have remained Greg and Nate's friend for at least 6 months past seeing said movies.
- The prospective member must never introduce Greg and/or Nate as "those guys who make those god-awful movies".
Upon successful completions of these rules, a membership card is issued. Membership may be suspended or revoked at any time for failure to comply with the terms of the membership.
