The Early Years

This MacQuarium was the first one I created.

The prominent goldfish in the left corner is Moof. Clarus (named for the dogcow, not the now-defunct software company) is showing us his (her?) backside in the lower right corner.

4/1999 Update: Unfortunately, it is my sad duty to report that Clarus has passed on to the Great Lake in the Sky. Moof now has complete control of the MacQuarium, and seems to be adjusting to life alone. Memorial gifts may be sent to Greg's toilet.

4/1999 Update 2: Browser the snail has been added to the MacQuarium. Not so much for Moof's benefit, but for mine. Any animal that enjoys eating the crud in the tank must be good.

MacQuarium

Unlike the original MacQuarium design, I managed to fit all the air pump and wiring inside the case, making for a pleasant, all-in-one design. The case is a 512K that I picked up at the local junk-for-cheap store, PPL. Amazingly, the two goldfish have survived for over a year, and they're on the verge of a glorious move to the new Two-Page MacQuarium.

12/1999 Update: A lot has happened in the past 8 months, some of which is documented on the Two-Page MacQuarium pages. Moof and Clarus are no more, Browser ended up taking an eternal nap on the gravel, and the MacQuarium 512K is in storage until I find a new place (and fish) for it. I plan to put a betta in there, or if nothing else, a solitary goldfish. When this happens, you'll see more pictures here.

An updated picture of the MacQuarium (sans Clarus).

Moof Thumb

Poor Moof has to struggle alone. He eagerly awaits the new 2-Page MacQuarium, so he can get a new friend.

Browser Thumb

A close-up of Browser, the happy snail, who was added in April, 1999.

Browser

A bit wider shot of Browser, because he's a camera hog.
