It only took a year to do this?

Only a year. Some notes about this. Of course, the upheavals in our society have taken their toll on the Two-Page MacQuarium. Who could work through the Lewinksi trials? Well, ok, I could. But then that ruins my excuse. Maybe it was Furby's. Maybe it was aliens. At any rate, after building the tank twice (hence, don't base yours exactly on the previous page), and finally cementing correctly, the Two-Page MacQuarium is finished! so, here's the pictures you've been waiting for.

An important part of the MacQuarium process: water-testing. Thankfully, this version of the tank was waterproof after 3 tests.

An addition since originally conceived: air-hose plugs. There's not enough room between the top of the tank and the outer shell. But never fear! The drill and some 15-cent acrylic tubing to the rescue!

Just for fun, we'll let the tank pee out the first of the water. In case anyone's wondering: 9.5 gallons.

In an old Mac IIx case, we have the air pump. Power cords will plug in as one would expect from a Mac IIx, and the air hose will travel out the back, and into the video-input port hole in the back of the monitor.

Here we have the tank inside the inner shell, with lights attached. In the back, the jumble of wires and hoses can be seen.

But of course, they can be seen even better in this shot! Note the original switch and power input (thanks go to Fluge from work for soldering the power input for me.)

And now with all kinds of pleasant fish things inside, and the front bezel on. The outer shell is still off, as this provides easy access to the top of the tank.

And of course, the IIx that's underneath.

Lights! Camera! Fish! Er, wait. Moof hasn't been moved yet. But it lights up quite nicely...

Coming soon: The finished product!

Once the methylene blue treatment is done, Moof, QuickTime, and whatever the soon-to-be-bought fish's name will be can be seen in all their glory!
