These are pictures I've made over the past 8-odd years, using a variety of programs
The Early Years: Wireman and Mesa (via the NESP)
These graphics were modeled with
the program Wireman, and rendered on a Cray Y-MP that is available
to
students for this and other uses. These were done in the 1991-1992
time frame (when I was in high school). They're
almost laughable compared to more recent work, but it was pretty hip
then. =)
The intro screen for "Greg & Jeff" productions, or something along those lines. (Jeff did this clip) |
A clip from scene one of "Into The Mac". If there's any Wireman users here, you may recognize this from the "About" box. Brian Lindow, if you're reading this, we still haven't seen a royalty check. =) (Jeff did this clip) |

Here we are, finally inside the Mac! Reflections worked out weird in here, but that's OK - I was new at this. (I did this clip) |
After traveling through the vide cord, we come out into the monitor, and see a disturbing user. (I did this clip) |
|
This movie was called "Squish the Ball". I think a more appropriate name would have been "Shove the ball through the floor", but it's too late now. |
If you've got reflection, you've got to make a bowling alley movie. |
|
And a pool table. My physics-simulation was a bit off, but then again, I'm not really that good at pool. |
Once again on the "Into the" tangent, I made a CD player. I think this was around the time I got my first CD player, too. |
|
Time to go inside the CD player! |
<Picture coming soon> |
More advanced early years: Sculpt 3D
My high school (Minnehaha Academy)
received a copy of Byte-By-Byte's Sculpt 3D for the Macintosh when I
was a student there.
Installed on a Mac IIci with 8 megs of RAM and a (huge!) 40 meg hard
drive, I dabbled with it and came up with these pictures.

After high school, I discovered
POV-Ray. I played with it for many years, and my biggest project was
a Lego space scene for use in Slimeoids IV.
While unfinished, it may show up in the future.

Gotta love the Slimeoids. For those who are interested, this was rendered with Radiosity on, and took about an hour (for the 640x480 version). Click for larger version. |
3D for moola: Ray Dream Studio 5
Earlier this year, I bought Ray Dream Studio and started using it. My biggest project with this is a graphic for my girlfriend (See|
