| Tourist in My Own city | | Date Created: Jul 28, 2005, 12:32 AM |
This week, I was blessed with a visit from my niece Jennie, who had moved away to Florida 15 years ago and came back for her first visit to NY, in almost as much time, as a grown woman! We had fun catching up on some shows, and running about the city from Central Park, to the Downtown area. Family and Friends can access the full album on my personal site (with a passord), but here are a couple of pix from her visit:

| We started our journey on 5th Avenue, stopping in at many of the shops there, then worked our way up to Central Park, where I stopped to get a shot of this serene, summery scene. I love how quiet the city can be at times. |

"Let Me Take You Down..."
One of the quietest spots in Central Park has to be Strawberry Fields, the section of the park dedicated to the memory of John Lennon. This was the first time I'd actually stepped foot into the the Garden, which is comprised of some of the loveliest trees in the park. It also has a great thinking area. If we weren't in a rush, this would have been a great place to hang out in the shade all day... |

Imagine.
The John Lennon Memorial. This is the first time I've ever photographed it. |
