Just "Do"

I'm often asked why I prefer Apple products to other computer related items, and in reality I don't really have a good answer except for the fact that I just... do.
And by "do", I mean I can get things "done".
I have met many and many a PC user who has had no clue what to do with their digital pictures, downloaded music, digital video, website, etc... etc... Yet in all the years I have been a Mac user, I have made professional looking DVD video projects, been able to take all of my music collection along with me on trips, created several variations of a website, and produced awesome looking photo books and collage videos. I just "Do" it.

There's always a small learning curve, but it's not impossible to think of something and actually trying and seeing if you can actually do it.

Someone recently asked me if I was on the computer all day and night. My answer is no. It appears that way, perhaps, because I usually travel with my Powerbook. But when I do use it, it's to jot down an idea, work on a thought, look up something really quickly, or simply to relieve boredom. I don't watch regular television, and the programs that do interest me are recorded and watched when time allows. I don't collect DVD videos other than the rare instance of a movie I felt I must have, or a gift that someone has given me. Most of the things people spend time doing, I do not. So I have a few moments here and there to jot down thoughts and work on projects and all that other sort of junk.

I consider the computer to be another stimulation for the mind. A virtual notebook, so-to-speak. Whereas before I could only keep notes on what I wanted to do, with my computer, I have a tendency to actually do it. I'm not saying that Macs are better than PC's or that PC's don't let you get any work accomplished. If I were given a PC, I'd certainly enjoy using it to explore it's capabilities. But I don't really see the need, when I can simply just use the product I have at hand to do what I need to do.

All I'm saying is that when someone asks me why I prefer Macs, my answer is simple: I just do.
