It's only a couple of days since the senseless attack on the British Railway, but I'm still feeling the empathy for our friends abroad. There's more to be felt than there is to be said, actually. I'm hoping the city can pull itself together, but moreover, I'm hoping that we never have to see any more of this kind of thing in our lifetimes.
A lofty dream, I know, but someone's got to dream of a better time. The most interesting thing I've found about all of this is that Londoners are as resilient as New Yorkers were. They didn't find a need to cower. They pressed forward with the duties of their day, and are trying to go about their daily lives. Just as New York had some years ago.
To get a sense of that resilience, here's a link to CNN's email responses to the attack.
One of my friends from the UK sent me this link to a video created to celebrate the spirit, the pride, the people, and the sites of London. His note indicated that it made him feel especially proud to be from there. Watching it, I could sense the reasons for his pride. It looks like a beautiful city. When you get a moment, take a look at this stirring video. It was apparently created for the Olympic Review comittee, and features a few Internationally famous faces.
