| Announcements for April | | Date Created: Apr 06, 2005, 09:39 PM |
Haven't put up many announcements lately. Perhaps too consumed with the Force, am I! Ironically,my announcements still have to do with Star Wars! (Sorry to you folks who aren't fans...It's gonna be like this for a while!!!)
Happy Birthday to my Nephew Dave!
(Here's a quick related story: Dave was all of about 4 years oldwhen he accompanied me and his sister Terry and his mom to a screening of the original Star Wars movie. We went to see it during it's first re-release that summer, since my youngest nephew had a fascination for the R2-D2 model kit I had at my house. Well, he sat riveted through the entire movie, but when it appeared that our heroes were going to be squashed within the walls of the garbage compactor, Dave covered his little eyes. "Are they going to live?" he asked, worried to death, as the walls came in closer on our heroes.
"Yes, " I said, half-giggling at his excited fear. "Of course they'll live. It's a movie!"
Dave turns 32 on April 7
Happy Birthday To my dear friend Annie (Short for Antoinette, not Anakin!)! Always there with a smile, Annie is one of my longtime pals, and we hope to celebrate her big day in a couple of weeks. Hopefully this time I will bring my camera!!
Happy Birthday to my pal Mike Fiskaa, who has signed up for another year of teaching in Japan. Read all about his adventures here.
Greetings to all of you born on and around the 17th! You know who you are.
And last, but not least, Happy 25th on the 21st to my niece, Jennie!
(Jennie brings to mind another COUPLE of Star Wars tales -- but I'll save them for my EMPIRE report -- watch for them within the week).
Lastly, a round of applause and a salute to one of my Internet Pals. The World Wide Web is an amazing place for those of us who know how to use it. I have exchanged many ideas, met many fascinating and wonderful people, and have engaged in many a discussion with people of like mind. There are good people out there.
One of my "i-Pals", who is in the U.S. Air Force, has recently been deployed for duty. He will be leaving to assist our troops in the Medical facilities in Germany for a while, beginning in April. Though a regular WDW visitor like myself, he is also a major Star Wars fan, (who, will, sadly be abroad while the movie hits theaters, here).
Best of luck to my pal "Dewey", who proudly hails from Arkansas but lives up North with his wife and son, as he heads off to proudly serve our country... May the Force Be With You. |
