Up to Snow Good

Well, I made it home despite the mounds of white that almost made the trip impossible. It wasn't only snow that hit us, but intense cold. On Saturday morning, it was a cool 4 degrees outside. Yep, that was cold. I was going to attempt going back and moving my car so that it wouldn't be left unattended, but when I saw how cold it was, I just stayed in and put another blanket over me.
There are some advantages to days like this, though. Since you can't really get around, and you're stuck inside (both the State of NY and NJ declared states of Emercency during the storm), you suddenly find that you're not rushed anymore. Suddenly, you have all the time in the world, it seems.
We spent some time catching some DVD's of things we'd gotten over time. Two years ago, someone had given me the Back to the Future set. Can you believe that only NOW have I had a chance to actually watch any of it. We watched the first movie, and enjoyed it to bits, except for the fact that the future that is mentioned in the sequel is merely 10 years away now. That was depressing. I hadn't seen this film in over a decade, so it was still as fresh and funny as it was in... well...1995.
We are getting OLD.
On Sunday, I went out to get Chinese food after the storm had subsided, as well as to check if I should attempt to make the journey to my place. Things were normal. Joggers were jogging (!), people were walking their dogs, and it was actually, strangely, comfortable out.
I took a refreshing walk, as I'd had enough of being couped up for the weekend.
I caught another view of the city....
