Guest Artist: Meghan Mayo Michaels
I studied Fine Art at Rock Valley College and Northern Illinois University. I work mostly with oil paints and pastels, although, I have experience working with graphite, charcoal and black and white photography. My work was displayed in 1998 at Earthworks Galleria and at the Sweden House. More recently, I have enjoyed contributing my artwork to charitable causes such as the Christopher Reeves Art auction and the United Way Silent Auction hosted by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. In December 2008 I joined Woman in Art X 3 as a guest artist for their annual holiday show. I attribute my inspiration to such artists as Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse and Jean-Michel Basquiat, as well as other local community artists and art professors.
