I Madonnari 2006 - Santa Barbara Tom & Mary teamed up for the second year to produce an image for the 20th I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival.

I Madonnari 2006 at the Santa Barbara Mission Memorial Day weekend An (almost) clean slate...remnants from 2005 may be seen here the pastels are ready first comes the grid Mary sketches the outlines and the fun begins The image is of Trevi Fountain, Rome from a Tom Buhl photo taken on his 2004 visit Tom also visited in 2005 with Crosby Only trained professionals may work on these masterpieces We began on a very warm and sunny Saturday and continued on Sunday Getting near completion Artists of all ages work make their marks In small and large groups Another day at the beach This was the 20th I Madonnari in Santa Barbara This was from a featured artist working at the foot of the mission steps Nice set of wheels Friend Sharyn Namnath works on a very large collaborative work celebrating Santa A fond rembrance Our neighbors produced St. Barbara and the Holy Family Flowers are nice Celebrating the grape This artist, across from our square, is from Italy To our left, the artist drew a photograph of his family’s farm back in Italy here we have great grandpa three generations of Italian life We just might finish soon or take a nap...this seems like a good spot a few highlights in the fountain’s water of course I’ll smile for the camera god daughter, Willa, places Three Coins in our Fountain I do believe we’ve got it Time to pack up Time for a nap!
