1. 1.Slowness during Daily Review and Update Projects scripts. Has to do with getting the entire inventory of the system when using these scripts. > Run the 10.5.8 Software Update

  1. 2.The RSD scripts show as a stack in the dock and cannot be navigated in a hierarchy of file paths as in 10.4 > Run the 10.5.8 Software Update. Change the settings for the RSD icon in your dock to Display as -> Folder. Then choose to view as either a stack or a list depending on your preference

No problems reported yet.

  1. 1.Sluggish behavior. Seems to be an issue with folder actions and/or control-clicking.

> Try not to use right-click or control-click when using RSD on Mac OS X 10.4. If the sluggishness lasts too long, Force Quit by control-clicking on the script’s icon in the dock or choosing “Force Quit…” from the Apple menu and selecting the script you want to quit.

> You may also try taking off the folder actions attached to the Ready-Set-Do! desktop folders. To do this, navigate to “Applications” --> Applescript --> Folder Actions Setup. Open Folder Actions Setup. Select all of the folders on the left side. Click the “-” minus sign to detach the folder actions from these folders. You should notice speed improvements. If, at any time, you would like to reset the Ready-Set-Do! desktop folders with their folder actions attached, just select “Reset RSD Desktop” from the help section of Ready-Set-Do!. The folder action attached to RSD folders is what automatically opens them to the size of your primary screen.

P.S. Folder actions and control-clicking issues are fixed in Leopard now. Thanks Apple!

  1. 1. FileVault Incompatibility > FileVault must be turned off when using Ready-Set-Do!. Because Ready-Set-Do! interacts with the user’s home folder and desktop, any file paths protected by FileVault will prevent Ready-Set-Do! from interacting with those folders. Thus FileVault must be off in order for Ready-Set-Do! to work with those folders.

  1. 2. File name in Mission Critical, Key Milestones, Deliverables – highlights, but doesn’t change the file name when using Projects scripts. > Click each window once to bring them forward until the dialog box is behind all three -- then rename the names of the project components. (Fixed in 10.6 “Snow Leopard.” Thanks Apple!)

  1. 3. The Mail.app to RSD Inbox scripts make text files out of the emails that get transported to the RSD Inbox or other desktop RSD folders. Attachments always retain their own properties, but any content of HTML in the email is not. > As of yet, I do not know how to retain HTML formatting or save emails as RTF or RTFD files. Once I figure this out, I will add this functionality to the scripts.

If you would like to report a bug or provide suggestions for the next update of Ready-Set-Do! please feel free to send an email.
