Insect and disease identification and control methods
How and when to fertilize
Propagation methods, including hybridizing new varieties
Photographing hibiscus
How to grow and exhibit show-winning blooms
Chapter meetings are held almost every month at the Largo Library just off East Bay Drive and guests are welcome. We usually meet at 9:30 AM on the fourth Saturday of the month. See schedule below.
The highlight of the year is when our chapter hosts its shows in February and June. At these shows growers from all over Florida bring their blooms and compete in various classes. There may be 600 to 1000 blooms on display.
Family membership is $30 a year. You will receive The Seed Pod, published quarterly by the American Hibiscus Society and the monthly newsletter published by the Sunset Chapter.
