"Brooklyn Bound" - Feature Best Light Dailies & Finish
MEAN PICTURES

A semi-biographical story set in a tough neighborhood in Brooklyn where Sean deals in the high income drug trade to support his family, as well as that of his mother & younger brother. In a variety of edgy scenarios, the gritty realities of this bad choice become more & more apparent in both his life as well as that of a friend, and eventually in that of his younger brother, Keith, as he is drawn toward the only way that he can see to move up in his world. Ultimately in a freak, yet coincidental circumstance Keith is killed during a sting operation aimed at Sean. The story ends as Sean is driven away in a squad car, passing by the gruesome site of his dead younger brother, fully realizing the cyclic nature of his choices; he is Brooklyn Bound.

Official Selection at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival

Igor & I have developed a close understanding of each other's craft and we work well together. Igor abhors strong color, preferring a subdued look that causes the viewer to look into the picture. This is my second project with this DP.

"212" - Feature Best Light Dailies - S16mm
212 PRODUCTIONS

Three sets of urbanites, living in matchbox apartments and working mundane jobs, struggle to connect with each other in New York City. Through pre-destined meetings and ill-fated misses, they try to overcome the obstacles to finding love in the digital age.

Nearly all lighting was with practicals; exposures were usually set to 2/3 over, intending to let the highlights blow. The script called for three primary looks that were achieved in color correction. The highlights were treated separately and given a soft shoulder allowing for more latitude in the mid-tones to create this rich look.
This is my fourth project with this DP.
