See the sights
of the 5th annual Los Angeles Dia De Los Muertos
Festival held each year
at the Hollywood Forever
Cemetery.
Interesting note....The Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the only
cemetery in the country that allows any type of Day of the Dead
Festival to be held on its grounds.
This year, it actually rained. Just a little...wimpy California
rain. Just enough rain to spot your eye glasses, very annoying. But
it was nice to have to put out some of the wildfires. The lighting
was a little low, but I was able to take some pretty good
pics.
This whole festival is a photographers dream. There are so many
things to take pictures of.
Hope you enjoy the sights of the Day of the
Dead.
Here it is guys.
If any of you want a copy of the original print, I am in process of
posting the original images to my LIbsyn account.
The pictures that are on the Apple Gallery page are high resolution
printable images.
Podcast is coming. All I can say is that I had a great time at the
Podcasting Expo.
About 10 miles
northeast of downtown Los Angeles is The Huntington
Library.
The Huntington Library is a research and educational
institution established by railroad magnate Henry E.
Huntington.
In addition to housing rare art collections, the Huntington Library
is also known for its 120 acres of the theme gardens containing
plants from throughout the world. The desert garden is one of the
oldest and largest in the world. And yes...it is very fabulous. It
is one of my favorites.
I finally got to officially break in my new camera. Last weekend my friend Ron and I
spent about 4 hours roaming the gardens and snapping as many pics
that we could. It is a great place with many photo ops. I hope you
enjoy them.
Mystic Garden are
the same pictures as above...just with more of an artistic
style.

Big Sur, California

About two weeks ago, I took a very beautiful road trip up the
California coast to Cambria, CA. Accompanying me on my journey was my
very dear friend, Claudette.
On our travels, Claudette and I traveled up the coast on Pacific Coast Highway to Big
Sur, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Hearst
Castle and Cambria.
I took a lot of pictures of the trip. Big Sur has a very "hippy"
"feel good" feeling to it. Very new-agey.
I really had a great time on this trip.
Recently, I visited the world famous La
Brea Tar Pits. I have lived in Los Angeles for over 12
years now and this was my first visit to the tar pits.
The tar pits have been oozing up liquid asphalt since the last
glacial ice age. It's so amazing to think that this stinky,
gurgling pond of tar has been in this same place for thousands of
years.
Adjacent to the tar pits, is the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, or LACMA
for short. I took a few snaps of the museum and grounds.
Just some random images of Los Angeles Union Station and The Los Angeles County
Museum of Art. In my efforts to get well, and get out of my
apartment, I took a little trip today and snapped some random shots
of life in Los Angeles. The mural (above) was my favorite of the
day. It really captures a sense of the people that call Los Angeles
their home.
