The goal of the Department of Cultural
Affairs is to enhance the quality of life for Los Angeles' 3.9
million residents and 25.1 million annual visitors.
We accomplish this goal by generating and supporting high quality
arts and cultural experiences. We ensure access to those
experiences through grant making, marketing, development,
communication, and building relationships with our community
partners. Our challenge is to be a catalyst for the delivery of
art, culture, and heritage to every neighborhood in the City of Los
Angeles.

Robey's mission is, through the creative process, to
explore and develop relevant provocative, and innovative new plays
written about the Black experience, as well as to reinterpret
established works. Robey creates a nourishing environment of
understanding and support in which multi-cultural theatre artists
are compelled to take risks in the search for artistic fulfillment.
It provides time, educational opportunities, and encouragement for
such growth and contributes to high standards of excellence in the
Black theatre in America.

Play7 asks, what is
intimate theatre, anyway? It's hard to say because of the
incredible diversity of the art form. But one thing is for sure:
it's as close as you can get without holding a karaoke mic, and no
one wants that, do they? No. Intimate theatre engages you because
you are there in the space with the performers, breathing the same
air, experiencing the story more directly, more personally than in
any other medium. You can't get that from the boob tube, can
you?

Crimson T-shirt sells personalized t-shirts and
other artistic paraphernalia in order to raise funds for White Cane
Productions, which is a production company that helps people with
disabilities enter into mainstream entertainment. White Cane
Productions showcases the disabled in innovative stories,
representing them as more provocative, conflicted and humorous
people. The good intentions of my company are reflected in our
name, which was inspired by my experiences working with the blind.
Our first screenplay is entitled "Fade Out," and stars a lead
character who struggles with blindness and a dramatic family
history.
It's time for people with disabilities to be shown as beautiful,
enviable and dynamic!
Now in our 49th

dedicated to the exploration of a diversity of perspectives,
Company of Angels is uniquely multi-cultural with members
reflecting the various ethnic groups which make up the City of Los
Angeles including African-American, Asian, Caucasian, Latino and
South Asian.
Organized in 1978 as s support group for
women in the arts, WIT is dedicated to promoting positive images of
women and empowering theatre arts professionals through
performance, education, net-working, service and outreach in
Southern California.
