Here are pictures from the Ride for the Heart. The first three pics are of the 1500 mile riders, Anita and me, getting ready to leave.
I am checking in here, with Anita behind me. In the second picture, K.Lee talks to Anita while I stare off into space.

Here, Anita gets her bike ready while the starter checks my mileage and gets ready to log me out. Anita and I set off minutes after this picture was taken. Of course, I was so out of it I had forgotten to connect my electric jacket cord to its power source! *DUH* Great start.

The next group of pics show the 1000 mile riders and a few of the 500 milers such as Carol K, who came early to take pictures and see everyone off. The first one shows Renee with the starter looking at her odometer, and Lilia is in the second picture with a couple of the Ride for the Heart volunteers.

Colleen is getting ready to start. The second pic is Carol with a great smile!

Sandy, K.Lee, Colleen, Jett, Carol, Lilia, and a brilliant Renee just before the start!

Lilia talks to K.Lee in the first picture. In the second Jett gets her bike checked.

It looks like they didn't leave until just as it started to get light!

The "Iron Socks" riders left at 6 AM for their 500 mile loop. In the first pic, from left there's Laura, Cris, Karen, Becky, K.Lee, and Sherry. Kathy and Carol also did the Iron Socks ride but they aren't in this pic.

K.Lee is standing with Becky, Sherry, and Kathy.

Here are various pics from the Iron Socks and 1000 mile rides. Anita and I didn't have any time to take pictures!

Laura and Becky. And then there's the all important pit stop!

Oh noes! It's busy!

A huge dust devil crossed the freeway at one point in Arizona.

There was a lot of this sort of emptiness for all of us!

Here are the 1K ladies wasting time in Apache Junction . . .

Somebody was a crab.

Mascots can be a good thing. :-)

At the end! All the 1000 mile Iron Butt riders got massages. They finished with two minutes to spare!

Anita and I rolled in with about an hour to go on our 1500 mile ride. My hair was so ratty that I refused to take my helmet off for the picture! :-)
