Ian McKellen at the world premiere of Emile
The 2003 Toronto International Film Festival brought us two Lord of the Rings stars, Cate Blanchette and Ian McKellan. Since Cate's film was a huge gala (Veronica Guerin), I decided to go for Sir Ian's small Canadian film, Emile. I thought it was pretty good (my review). I had a great seat (I deserved it, after getting there over 2 hours early so I was first in line), so I was able to get good pictures of Ian and the rest of the cast during the Q&A. Actually, Tom deserves all the credit for training me on his snazzy Nikon camera. There was no chance for autographs, unfortunately, much to my and my kids' disappointment. I was also sad Emma couldn't join me this year, though not as sad as Emma, being the major Ian fan she is.
