On 4 July 1791, a William Jones witnessed the will of James Edmondson of Charleton Hill in the County of Essex and Parish of Southfarnham. [Essex County, Virginia, Will Book 14, pages 292–293.]

On 21 January 1793, a William Jones witnessed a deed from John Boughan and Sarah his wife of the County of Essex and parish of Southfarnham to Thomas Crow of the same. [Essex County, Virginia, Deed Book 33, page 436.]
