Making Sure Windows Users Can See Your Movies
By default Mac programs create video with the latest and best encoding technology, called H.264. Windows machines which have not been upgraded to QuickTime 7 or equivalent similar software will not be able to see them. The source for Win QT 7 is here:

If upgrading is not a feasible solution, then you should choose a different encoding for your video, such as MPEG-4 or Sorenson 3. How you do this depends on the app you are using, but normally in either Save As, Share, or Export you should find an Options, Custom, or Expert button where you can choose the codec you want.
