IMovie 3 and 4 have only a limited ability to create titles in languages other than English. They are restricted to what can be typed by keyboards in the Roman, Central European, and Cyrillic groups, plus Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (and the basic Greek of the Symbol font). In doing this, users may need to try different fonts to get good results. In particular, Central European and Cyrillic titles require fonts that have CE and CY, respectively, at the ends of their names. A simple example can be seen here:

iMovie 5 (iMovie HD) has expanded capabilities. Simple testing indicates that in principle titles can be created using all the keyboards, including those in the Unicode category. There are, however, bugs in some scripts. Arabic, Hebrew, and Devanagari, for example, only display in the correct order with the 3DSpin option. iMovie 6 can handle all scripts OK. Users may need to try different fonts (in particular Lucida Grande) to get best results. A very basic example using iMovie 5 can be seen here:
