View from our room, right on Clearwater Beach.
At Marie Selby Botanic Gardens, the orchid room was enormous.
There's no way to capture all those orchids...
but here are a few that photographed well...

The rest of Selby gardens was great too. Here's the view of the bay...
...where a bridge was half-built
This lizard's camouflage is near-perfect.
This one had a red neck.
The banyan trees defied photography.
At Myakka State Park, you can rent a canoe...
see the birds...
up close...
and on the wing...
Ibis were everywhere...
all over the shore
as were gators...
Yeah, these guys were all over. They apparently fill up on birds, not canoeists.
No photos at the Dali Museum... just this poorly-built bench outside.
Lots of wildlife at the county gardens...
...
...this frog had amazing camouflage.
This heron doesn't need it.
On the beach, looking south back to Clearwater Beach
Looking north at Caladisi Island
That line in the middle used to be the division between the two islands.
All the tourists at Caladesi hang in one little spot.
Leaving the rest for us to explore alone...
...or whatever...
And we saw a tortoise...
...and a hare.
Clearwater/Caladesi are great walking beaches.
