Grand Cayman, part of the Cayman Islands, south of Cuba.
Our hotel, the Turtle Nest Inn, on the beach, in Bodden Town (turtlenestinn.com)
The view from the Turtle Nest lobby is wonderful.
Our room was nice, big, clean, and airy (if full of luggage and snorkel gear).
View from our room's balcony.
The hotel came with Vitamine, the cat
Vitamine was very friendly
Entrance to the trail at Queen Elizabeth Botanic Gardens
This trail circles the botanic gardens...
...looking onto the natural landscape...
...which was full of dragonflies...
...and so many great flowers
...and some of these rare blue iguanas
...rare except for in these gardens.
Another, smaller lizard
and a different species
and yet another.
See the lizard here?
And hermit crabs were so hard to see
Still at the botanic garden
and this bird
and parrots feeding (now I understand why they're green!)
...and looking cute
On the "iron shore" at DiveTech (a dive shop on the northwest)
Entrance to the Mastic Trail, which was very primitive. Bring boots!
Snake on the Mastic Trail.
At Rum Point, the beach was excellent (though the snorkeling was cloudy/choppy).
On the south coast, rocky shores to windward cause...
...natural blow holes.
At the butterfly gardens

The beach at our hotel...
And that same view at night.
Sunset there was very calming.
...
...but the real fun was under the surface. Check out the snorkeling slideshow...
