| Summer Update!! | | Date Created: Jul 31, 2005, 12:02 AM |
I have had quite a busy summer compared to last year. One of my goals for this summer was to get out side on the weekends to use my new hiking/camping gear. Im pleased to say that I have been doing very well in that regard.
Memoral Day at the Barrett cabin was great! The weather was perfect. The forcast was gloom and doom this year but at Cedar Lake there was hardly a cloud in the sky. I spent a large ammount of my time in my new hammock. I had JUST returned from Syracuse and after a short stop at home drove right up to the cabin.
I took a day trip to Taylors Falls to do some hiking a few weekends past and made a stop at the Franconia Sculpture Park on the way. There were several interesting new sculptures but I thought the most interesting picture was a "no look" shot of a big metal spiral that was on the scrap heap.
The third weekend in July has become our annual weeknd for visiting Marks cabin. Last year JB put two life jackets on an old lawn chair so he could float around the lake in style. It was such a fantastic idea, I suggested that next year we have a competition. THE FLOTILLA was born!!! I dont remember the names of all the chairs so the owners will have to forward that info to me so I can update the pictures. Rick was the winner with a tropical theme.
Just last weekend I went with my cousin and some of her friends to St. Croix State Park. The weather was great although it did rain for a few hours on Saturday. There was much relaxing, canoe tipping, frisbee throwing, being shushed by the park ranger for being too loud, and making pizza in the fire. Thanks for planning the trip Annie!!!
