New York, New York!!!!Last week was pretty eventful. Justin flew to
New york on Tuesday to attend a conference for children's television shows. then
I took the red eye flight thursday night to meet him there with a bunch of our
friends (also creators of Yo Gabba Gabba. It was my first time visiting
New York, and boy-oh-boy was I not prepared for how cold it was! I really felt
completely chilled to the bone even though I was wearing two coats, thermals
under my pants, thick socks, scarf, hat, and gloves! When packing, I was really
tempted to lug over my 5-d, but since it was expected to be such a short trip I
decided that the point-and-shoot would have to do. Despite the cold, I really
had a great first experience, and plus, I got to eat, shop, and hang out with
really fun people!
Each time I tried to take a photo I felt like my hands were about to fall off...but we still got some pretty crazy shots.

One of the best highlights of this trip was our visit to Ground Zero, I really felt the true spirit of New York there. We got to visit a memorial-museum that had just recently opened. When we walked inside there were quotes, live audio, real items found in the ruins, and a video portraying people pulling together to clean up and cope with the events of 911. There were eight of us in our group and we were all crying by the time we stepped foot outside that memorial. The elementary schools made tiles and donated them as a service to the memorial. It was such a heartfelt experience and I am so glad that we took time to see this.

...and here's my cold self posing for me...
![]() New York is a happenin' place to be, people were out having a great time and didn't seem to care that the weather was soooo cold. In fact, I think that there were more people walking around at night than there were during the day.
On our last night we were trying to figure out what we should do to make it back to our hotel, and Justin (being the man that he is) ran into a limo driver an convinced him to give us a ride back at a very discounted rate....it was totally random, but so much fun!
Of course we had to get a group shot in front of the limo!
This is the last day of the Kidscreen conference with Justin, Scott and Christian (the directors of Yo Gabba Gabba), with the characters of Spiderman.
