Way to go IDAHO!!
First of all, we just want to apologize for the
long wait for this entry....after much "hate mail" we realized that we needed to
get our act together and post all of our holiday images for all of those
frequent blog visitors.
Over the
holidays we traveled to Idaho (Justin's home state) to have a white christmas
and visit old friends and family. When we were packing, we decided not to bring
all of our camera gear since we already had four bags to check and two large
carry-ons. Boy, oh boy, did we regret that decision! There were so many
beautiful and cool scene's up there and we wished so many times during the trip
that we had our camera equipment to capture everything. (BTW, if anyone knows a
good looking couple getting married in the Idaho Falls area, we would LOVE to
shoot a wedding there at a fairly discounted price!!!). There is a silver
lining to this story though, it gave us a good excuse to buy a new point and
shoot (the Canon Power Shot SD800 IS). We had a great time with our new little
camera and got some pretty fun shots too!
Hudson's first time in the snow and he was
loving it!
The bare trees were beautiful
against the setting sun!
Grandma and Grandpa
Lyon...
The sweet little Madison
Justin took this shot of his brother
in law, kenney and and the adorable
Olivia
One
morning we woke up and the whole world, far as the eye could see, every twig and
stick, was covered in frost...not just any frost, but a type of frost called
"hoare frost", we were told that this phenomenon only happens about every three
to four years....we were so lucky to witness it! To describe it in photographer
words, it looked like we were looking through colored infrared
glasses.
We also went for a snow mobile
ride....this is us in our gear...I think we look way hot! The perfect get-up
for 7 degree weather!

Amelia with the sister-in-laws, heather and
Mandy...another hot shot of us in our snow

LIttle hailey had so much fun in the
snow and even made her very own snowman
family.

Hudson looked soooooooo cute in his
snow outfit and he couldn't get enough of sledding down the hill. here he is
again with olivia.
For
New Year's eve, Justin, Kenney, Mandy, and I were desperately in search of a fun
place to be to ring in the new year. Well, after jumping through hoops, driving
around, and making phone calls, we ended up at a small bar called Karen's, where
we had the amazing opportunity to spend our last night of 2006 with Idaho's
finest group of people! So, we made the best of it and and actually had a
really great time! Here are all of our crazy photos from that night:
This was our last day, we were able
to get a few quick shots with the great grandparents. On the left we have grammy
lyon and on the right we have grandma and grandpa
Marsden.
The year of 2006 was amazing and
even more generous to us than we had ever hoped for....we feel so blessed and
can't wait to see what 2007 brings. Happy New Year to all!
