A demonstration of "Efficient Enterprise"
Corporations love big buzz
words and mine is no different. We believe strongly in recycling
ballloons.
While George was away in Los Angeles for training
he celebrated his 24th birthday. When he returned to work after being away for
two weeks he found his cube full of balloons and streamers. Take my word when I
say it takes a lot of air to fill up enough balloons to fill a cube. We had a
severe weather drill and made good use of the time asking folks in the stairwell
to help us fill a few. Everyone knows George and would do anything for
him.In turn George took everything and
moved it to Leila's cube next to his — streamers, balloons and all. But we
already had a plan for all the balloons. Gelila, our boss, would return in a
couple of days from a month long visit with her family in Ethiopia and so we
planned to put all the balloons in her cube. George made extra effort to add
more balloons last night.Gelila
arrived this morning and found the balloons but we were quick to her empty the
balloons from her cube and put them into Kaaren's. Kaaren hadn't come into work
yet, so this only made sense. From
Kaaren's cube we formed a fireman's brigade and patted the balloons in the air
into Sherry's cube. Sherry is in Los Angeles this week but returning Monday. The
included picture is Sherry's cube.Once
Sherry gets back we're trying to determine who should get the balloons next.
We're thinking about putting them into our V.P.'s office. Use and reuse. This is
our interpretation of "Efficient
Enterprise."(This picture was taken
