Who am I? A creative thinker with a proven track record for turning concepts into reality. An artist who's in touch with his technical side. A storyteller with a head full of ideas and notepad full of sketches. A guy who knows how to make virtually anything interactive, but also knows when not to. I've worked for some of the world's biggest clients and survived. I've led some brilliant creative teams, as well as some real misfits who became brilliant creatives.

PlaydayTV is an interactive television channel featuring casual games streamed to virtually any device. As Executive Producer, I was responsible for creative direction and production of all onscreen content and managed both external and internal production and design teams.

Game Now is a complete games solution for cable operators that uses existing on-demand infrastructure to deliver games. As Creative Director, I was responsible for product design, marketing support, presentation and interaction design for the complete product line.

iPhone Games - working closely with genius programmer Phil Stroffolino, I have been using my game design and artwork skills on a number of popular games distributed through Apple's App Store. More games are in development and will be released this summer, so check back soon.

The Cypher was the first totally interactive murder mystery game made for the web. As Creative Director and co-founder of EPG Studios, I managed design and development teams, working closely with distributors to market and promote the game, both in the US and Europe.

Haunted Castle was an immersive casual game produced for UK broadcaster Challenge TV. As Creative Director for B.E Studios, I was responsible for all creative and production aspects of the project, including budgeting, scheduling, scripting, motion design, audio production and game design.

Interactive TV
I had the unique privilege of working for 6 years in London, first as Creative Director of B.E Studios and then as Executive Producer for Flextech/Telewest (now Virgin Media TV). I produced a wide variety of interactive TV programming, including play along game shows, live shows, documentaries and fully interactive TV portals. My final UK production was nominated for a Bafta award.

User Interface
My user interface and interaction design abilities have been used on a wide variety of projects, including consumer software, web applications and interactive TV applications. This is a sampling of some of my recent work.

Digital Painting
Getting paint and charcoal dust all over my clothes and under my fingernails was no fun! Now all I need is my Wacom Tablet, a little patience and a wild imagination. This is a sampling of some of my sketches and fine art painting.

Illustration
I've become known for my constant doodling. Every piece of scrap paper and notebook in my possession is full of sketches and cartoons. Over the years, my professional illustration style has evolved and gone digital, but my passion for drawing has never abated. Here's a sampling of some of my non-doodles.

3D Artwork
Pretty much everyrthing I create these days uses some kind of 3D element, an object like a light bulb (see above), a type treatment, or a complete environment. Usually, I seamlessly mix the 3D elements in with photography, illustration or both. The examples shown here are modeled and rendered in Cinema 4D, ZBrush and Vue 7 xStream with little or no postwork. Enjoy.

Photography
I have a passion for photography and the images shown here are from my personal collection. I use several digital cameras including the Canon PowerShot SD850, the Nikon D60 and the Nikon D90, which also captures HD video.

Biography
I'll keep this short and sweet. I began my career as a humble paste-up artist at a small print shop and honed my skills cutting rubylith and operating a stat camera. Over the course of my career, I have been a packaging designer, an advertising art director, associate creative director for an internationally recognized production company, and co-founder of two award winning new media firms, EPG Studios in Seattle and B.E Studios in London.

I have designed marketing brochures, wine labels, interactive CD ROMs, web sites, games, interactive TV shows, electronic program guides (EPGs) and even an interactive virtual ride for DisneyQuest in Orlando. I've worked on projects for clients such as Apple Computer, Nintendo, Vans Shoes, Intel, Microsoft, Disney Imagineering, and Sierra Software. I've seen design and technology trends come and go. I've learned how innovative ideas and great design can make the difference between a winning concept and one that falls flat.
