conservation in Madison County, if they don’t believe development is
coming, this should serve as a wake-up call,” said Miller. Miller also
noted that the number of new housing permits issued by the county has been
rising steadily each year since
1991.
...“Most easements are done because people love their land and want to leave the legacy behind of open space,” said Miller, whose own land, near the Gaar Mountain area, is held in a conservancy easement.... No matter how you look at it, Madison is a gorgeous place to live and visit, and is even becoming a bit of a commuter community to Northern Virginia, if you can believe it! From the Madison

“If people are not interested in land conservation in Madison County, if they don’t believe development is coming, this should serve as a wake-up call,” said Miller. Miller also noted that the number of new housing permits issued by the county has been rising steadily each year since 1991. As I tell my clients, as a Realtor, growth is usually good. There is great value in protecting the now-clichéd natural beauty of the region. “Most easements are done because people love their land and want to leave the legacy behind of open space,” said Miller, whose own land, near the Gaar Mountain area, is held in a conservancy easement. “To me, it’s the ultimate unselfish act — a living legacy of natural resources.”” No matter how you look at it, Madison is a gorgeous place to live and visit, and is even becoming a bit of a commuter community to Northern Virginia, if you can believe it! Greene. Louisa, Culpeper, basically all of its neighbors, and it's refreshing.
The area remains one of the most beautiful and pure parts of the region, and
this is deliberate. DP reports .
