March 18, 2006 - Wedding Season is Here!

Oh my! What a way to kick off wedding season! Yesterday I shot an incredible wedding at The Lodge in Rancho Mirage, CA near Palm Springs. Everything was amazing. The bride was gorgeous... like supermodel gorgeous. The groom actually wasn't half bad lookin' either. The details were exquisite and everybody was just so warm and open. I truly felt like part of the family. It has always been my philosophy to show up at every wedding as if I were an old friend with a fancy camera and yesterday was no different. Their was a threat of rain and hail in the forecast all week long but the day actually turned out to be amazing. It was a little windy, so they ended up moving the ceremony into the ballroom, but it was also decorated beautifully. Square Root made the trip out from Orange County to provide awesome floral arrangements as per usual. I will definitely be making a sample album out of this wedding.

Here are a couple of my favorite images, starting with the desert landscape:

The veil and bouquet:

As the would say in the movie "Clueless" "Nice Stems!":

The bride was so easy to photograph:

And was so expressive:

The bride's father was preparing his speech or reviewing the catering bill. Either way, I thought he'd want to be alone:

See, they are both photogenic:

Square Root is one of the best florists in all of Southern California. Pro Audio provided the additional lighting which really helps with the photos:

"Everybody Hora!"

I was very fortunate to have Jessica Claire along to shoot as well. You can see more of her fabulous images from today on her blog.

Oh yeah, what do you think of this for a possible postcard?:
