Thanksgiving, North Carolina style

Well that was fun! I had a great time with Jessica's family celebrating Thanksgiving just outside of Raleigh yesterday. It was the first time meeting the rest of the family (her parents have visited California a couple of times now so we go way back). I was warned about her cousins Steven & Kenny, but they took it easy on me. We had a very relaxing day just watching football (go Cowboys!), eating and playing games.

Her family is very organized, they even made a seating chart:

Since I am not technically a part of the family, I volunteered to shoot the family portrait, then a few people said they wanted me in the shot so I did my thing:

Steven is actually a chef and took card of the bird among other things. Check out Jess trying to sneak a taste:

A quick catnap during half time (thanks to Jess for the flattering photo):

Kenny hogging the whip cream:

And the highlight of the night is when Jeff, a family friend, busted out his accordion and "rocked the house":

Here's a little video of the ho-down that Jessica posted on YouTube. Nana was quite excited and provided the background vocals: (you are in for a treat!):
