The Great American Road Trip - Day 2 - Fridgehenge

I've been fortunate enough to travel all over the world in my 33 years. I've been to the Vatican, Red Square, Africa, The Caribbean, Hawaii, New York City... I've seen both Eiffel Towers (Paris and Las Vegas!). I've been to the Louvre, the Hermitage, the Kremlin, the Grand Canyon, visited Mayan ruins and even been to Disneyland on several occasions, but I have never witnessed anything so amazing as when I visited Fridgehenge yesterday afternoon outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico!

Words cannot describe the awesome, awesomeness of over 200 old refrigerators arranged to replicate Stonehedge in the UK. Unfortunately some of them have fallen, but the spirit of satirical art lives on:

The rest of these shots will pale in comparison after seeing such a spectacle.

But as promised, here's a shot of the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ where we stayed the first night. For $49 a night, you can't find a better deal!:

These two were taken just outside of town near the Petrified Forest:

For the first time in my life, I found myself in New Mexico and thought it was beautiful. Our next stop after Fridgehenge was Tiny Town, in Madrid. A local artist made a little village out of old bones, roadkill, rusted stuff and various knick knacks. It was really something.

Finally, we stopped in a town called Cerrillo, which was used in the filming of the Young Guns movies. While we didn't run into Billy the Kid or Emillio Estevez, we got some nice shots of the local architecture:

And while walking through town, I had to shoot this since I will be in Kentucky next week giving a seminar at their local KPPA photography convention.

I think there are a few spots left for next Tuesday (Jan 30th) feel free to sign up!

We've made it to Taos and will be posting images from the surrounding areas tomorrow. Be sure to check out Jessica's blog for her Day 2 action.
