Kubota ActionsEver since switching to
digital back in 2001, Adobe Photoshop has become more and more a part of my
life. Hardly a single day goes by without me tweaking some images, or designing
an album or experimenting with Photoshop. Even though the camera's we use are
state of the art, top of the line models, the straight-out-of-the-camera files
are not as good as they could be. Every image that is ordered as a reprint, or
that is included in someone's album is enhanced, retoucher, altered or adjusted
in one way shape or
form.
My favorite way to start a story is... "this one time, at Photoshop camp... yadda yadda yadda!" I actually did got to Photoshop Bootcamp in Hawaii in May of 2002 hosted by Kevin Kubota. Kevin is an amazing photographer from the Oregon Territory. He has also been shooting digitally since the beginning and he is truly a Photoshop Guru. He has developed many Photoshop actions and he has made them available for purchase at a very fair price. The time I have saved over the years just by using his actions has made my life so much more productive. I am not exaggerating when I say that I use one of more of his actions on every single image that we process. Every image. Here are a few sample of his actions. Some of them are very subtle, and the nice thing about them is they are easily adjustable and most of them can be "seasoned to taste". I can't stand seeing shots that are overworked in Photoshop... they just look fake an unnatural. ![]() ![]() If you are a photographer using photoshop without Kubota's Artistic Actions, it's kinda like having a gun without any bullets (pointless). Kevin has a brand new set of Actions, "Artistic Tools Volume 2 "... do yourself a favor and download them today! .
