project: Durham and Me

I was born at Dryburn Hospital

So was my brother John

Aunty Claire was a radiographer there then

Mum lived in Durham and worked at County Hall when she was young

Grandad Earl was born at Haughall,

where he lived on a farm with his parents and grandparents

Grandma Joan went to Whinney Hill School,

then worked in the Science Labs Maths Department at the University

My English teacher's mother-in-law also worked at the

Science Labs, and in Maths for some of the time

Mrs Moore is one of my grandma's lifelong best friends

Grandma's sister, Gwenny Milner, lived in Shincliffe,

where she and uncle Dick had dog and cat kennels and kept pigs.

Great Aunt Gwen worked with the Women's Guild, Girl Guides and Drama Groups

My Geat-Grandma, Lily Cleary (nee Featherstone), is in the b/w photos below

with her Granddad, who was the blacksmith at Shincliffe then,

The colour photos show my Grandma looking at how the place has changed
