Icons save space and allow pre-literate and non-literate people to access the system.


The static location of each Icon in Minspeak LLL, and the Folders/Files in our analogy, with each taking permanent residence in a particular cell, whatever the page, enables a user of the system to learn to navigate it automatically, like using the clutch, break and gear controls in a car, or touch-typing on a QWERTY keyboard.

Note: None of the Kite words (cell A4 - Shapes) are top 300-ers, but most of them are Key Stage 1 Maths Core Vocabulary. The Jacket words (cell J5 - Clothes) aren't top 300-ers either, but Michael's got a thing about coats and tops.
