The folders above could contain the 1,000's of everyday speech words that exist in the Minspeak LLL system, arranged by type of word, but this demonstration is limited to only 330 or so of the most commonly used words.

We can imagine that the Name folder (cell B2) contains all the nouns, categorised into subfolders within it. Sub-foldering does add a keystoke to the retrieval proccess though, and the system being demonstrated here has enough cells on its keyboard overlay to display many noun categories folders at the top level, as all other words are stored by type and belong in one or other of the folders shown above. We have only removed the nouns from sight here to reveal a core set of essential folders.

The seven Pronouns, I, You, He, She, It, We and They, are natives of the Name (Nouns) folder.

The other Self words, like Me, Myself, My and Mine, Yourself, Your and Yours etc., are split between the folders Elf, Label, I, You, He, She, It, We and They in LLL, to allow for the same seven icons (the ones that represent I, You, He, She...) to be used in all five sets of self word, either as the file icon or the folder icon.

The (arbitrary) minimum number of folders shown here could be further reduced by putting the words To (cell H2), A (cell I2), and Not (cell E7) into the smALL (cell K3) words folder, as each one is the only single word in folders that otherwise contains phrases, e.g.

  • To + Verb phrases like To have, To be, To do...
  • A + [name of container] + Of phrases like A can of, A box of...
  • Negative Expressions like I don't know, and Don't shout, I'm not deaf!

The Prefix (cell A1) and Suffix (cellP1) folders aren't needed for common words.

This leaves us with barely an alphabet's worth of core essential folders to concentrate on learning.

Less than 5% of words are stored as Alternatives (cell B1) to or Opposites (cell K2) of top level messages, but a few very common words are stored as Opposites, so Opposite is a definite Barebones Essential Folder/Icon, and, as the verbs and adjectives folders are already full by default, the Alternatives (Ch 2, Video Remote) Folder/Icon may be used to find space for adding a User's Personal vocabulary to the system.
