  • 8/13/02: Back from GenCon! That was fun and inspiring! The last year in Milwaukee though, which was kind of sad. Anyway, several news items:
    • I've got some exciting plans for the website, including an area devoted to ongoing events centered on Sel-kai. Look for it in the next few days. Things may be shifting around, so your best bet is to bookmark the main page (www.eidolonstudio.com).
    • Product sales are shifting to the ICE Website. The books and PDFs will soon be available there. (I have a very few spiral-bound copies of them left if you prefer those; all ICE books will be perfect-bound unless otherwise noted). These books are otherwise the same as the ones already released. The Atlas is going to be reformatted in the next month or so with new interior art and RMSS stats (in addition to the RM2 stats). Emer I, Emer II, and Haalkitaine will also be updated and released by ICE over the next several months. In addition we'll be releasing new products like Powers, Artifacts, and Races & Cultures of Emer.
    • Here's another render: a steam-breathing sea serpent attacks a ship in the Melurian Straits.
    • Don't forget, if you order from Amazon, go through the links at left to help me pay for this site! (server space and software ain't free you know!)

  • 7/30/02:
  • I've been thinking of starting up (or re-starting) a Shadow World webring. part of the reason for this is that people are playing SW with other systems besides RM, and I've seen some beautiful SW-related sites. If you would be interested, please email me.
  • Here's a more complete version of Sanyel (preparing a Waterbolt spell) and his guard Mychan. Here is a closeup of Sanyel. Hirazi are very human-like in appearance except their hair is much more like feathers, and while they look muscular they are actually light and not very strong; the bones and tissues are porous. What do you think?
  • 7/20/02: Making progress with Powers, new Shadowstone chapter soon. Been playing in 3D rendering software. Here's a preliminary render of Sanyel, a Hirazi Prince from the Sa'haree Eyrie high in the Green Mountains (NE Emer).
  • 7/4/02: New Shadowstone Chapter! And, I realized that for some reason some of the index entries in the Atlas are incorrect. I have re-run the Index and created a new PDF file of just those pages. It is available in my Download Area. Sorry for the inconvenience! And if you're bored, see the Things to do on Memorial Day below.
  • 6/9/02: Slaving away on 'Powers.' Sorry it's taking so long! In the meantime, maybe the Fellowship of the Ring's Very Secret Diaries will amuse you guys (are you a 'pervy Hobbit fancier'?). Note: Americans will benefit from this handy English-to-American dictionary.
  • 2/20/02: My'bad. I was flipping through Emer 2 yesterday and realized that I hadn't included the map of Vog Mur! I'd even updated the old map from the module, but somehow it never made it into the book. So, I have added a Vog Mur map in the Map Room, and uploaded pdf versions to the download site. What else have I forgotten!?
  • Other news:
I just realized that the first-line indents I put in the narrative section of Kalen Chapter 3 don't work in Internet Explorer; only Netscape! Argh! Damn Bill Gates! The text was awful! At the suggestion of a fan, I am going to break down and delve into Cascading Style Sheets this weekend and see if I can't get more control over the formatting! Otherwise I may go to pdf files. I just hate the boring courier type/double return formatting of most text. Suggestions are welcome! In the meantime I've applied a workaround that SHOULD work on both platforms and browsers...
  • The schedule for all new books is on hold until I finish working things out with ICE. However, there are plans for an Atlas 3rd Edition with RMSS stats, and RMSS (and RM2 if I have my way) Races and Cultures of Emer. I fully expect that Powers and Artifacts will both be released in the near future, but it's pointless to try to guess about when right now. I am continuing to work on both.
  • 1/15: The Map Room is now reopened. Just a couple of Jaiman maps to supplement the Kalen story at this point but hopefully more soon. I also changed the font size on the latest chapter of Kalen's Tale. I think this is easier to read. Opinions?
  • 1/13: Kalen Chapter 3 completed! (an additional scene added). Also Andraax's Scrolls now includes a glossary of terms, and at the Kalen Table of Contents, I've added some map links.
1/8: Some minor fixes, edits to Kalen Chapter 3. Andraax's Scrolls is now errata, anyone with errata to share please email it to me! I've removed the 'netmind' link. If you'd like to be emailed when the page updates, just send me a note.
  • 1/4: New Kalen Chapter!
  • 1/1: Happy 2002! New items in Andraax's Scrolls, Terry's Study.
  • Apparently the 'Netmind' thing is not working, as I suspected. I'm going to leave it up for awhile so people can easily access it and take themselves off its list if they wish (for all I know they are selling your emails...).
  • 12/19: I just saw The Lord of the Rings. Awesome! It makes me sad to think back to the days of working on those Middle-earth modules, and a tiny bit of me hates to give money to the lawyers, but I can't hold a grudge against the director, actors and crew. It really is a stunning film. Effects, acting, setting, all wonderful. A+ (And Legolas is an Elf the way Elves should be! Orlando Bloom rocked!)
  • 11/10/2001: The shift is underway. The truth is that much of the old page was also based in my old work server, a PowerMac. However, my company has been bought, and they are replacing my little Mac server with this Dell beast with seven 78-gig hard drives and dual voodoo-hertz processors. (Yeah it's impressive I admit, but all I can think of is that commercial where the kid goes "Dude! you're getting a Dell!" But I can't use it as a web server anymore. It's just a big dumb file server.). ALSO, for those of you who shop at Amazon.com, PLEASE remember than before shopping, use the handy link at left to enter the Amazon site. When you do, I get a commission on everything you buy! It costs you no more, and it's more pennies in Terry's coffers so he can buy coffee to fuel his writing... Thanks!
  • 11/4/2001: The SW web page is going to probably be switching servers over the next few weeks. The home page remains www.eidolonstudio.com, but until today there has been a virtual link to my old AOL web area at users.aol.com/terbob, which seems to be increasingly slow and unreliable. Now the link is to the Apple web area and seems to work better. Anyway, parts of the site may go down for short periods, but you should always be able to at least get the home page.
  • October 15, 2001: A bit of errata: On the Haalkitaine back cover map, there are two 'Harrowgates' noted. The southern one on the Bay of Deadly Breakers is correct. The northern one, on the coast of L'kyran, is actually Trollhenge, in the province of Bellarion. Feel free to email other errata to me; I'm planning on adding an errata page to the site. Thanks!
  • April 27, 2001: I've (finally) registered eidolonstudio.com. It just links to the old main page right now but it's the first step in a total redesign of the site. So heads up, you might want to go bookmark that page as other URLs may be changing. I'll try to alert everyone before changing this page, since I have the 'netmind' thing set up and all.
