Victoria Bridge closure discussed live on BBC

BBC Hereford and Worcester will be broadcasting live from the Victoria Bridge tomorrow morning (Wednesday 15 March) from about 7.00 am onwards and resident Faith Ford will be putting our case for a temporary bridge (or ferry). Join them if you feel inclined!
UPDATE: Faith Ford gave a precise and well informed opinion on this morning's programme. The Council's response is that they "looked at putting up a temporary bridge while the works were carried out but rejected the idea after discovering it would cost £250,000." That's the first we've heard of it and its not acceptable that it was only announced yesterday, by coincidence the same day the BBC contacted the Council. Its a nice round figure, and we question how they arrived at it and what that would provide, but nonetheless its nothing compared to the cost of just one road traffic accident. Read more on the BBC website here and the Council's statement here. FURTHER UPDATE: we now have an mp3 sound file of the interview. Email us if you'd like a copy (its 3.6Mb).
