VICTORIA FOOTBRIDGE TO CLOSE FOR 6 MONTHS


We are advised by Herefordshire Council that the heavily used and much loved Victoria footbridge will be closed from May to September 2006 for sorely overdue repairs and refurbishment. Despite requests from the local Community, the Council have declined to provide a temporary bridge and parents and children who cycle and walk the bridge every day to get to work and school face a long detour through the City. Undoubtedly many will take to their cars, further contributing to problems at Belmont roundabout as Asda and associated roadworks are being built. Any bridge builders want to volunteer their services? More details when we have them.
