At the very beginning of this presentation, we noted three layered design goals. Here, we note a fourth layer. The group that performed all the construction was a novel construction in itself. The company was run as a collective in the Quaker tradition, meaning complete consensus on all matters. Ownership, profits, wages, schedules and roles for example were all decided as a group. Over the decade, quite a number of people cycled through the coop.

Associated with the building coop was a Montessori school and a food coop.
