Internet Curriculum Connections

These sites are ones that seem particularly appropriate for teachers who are just getting started using the internet in their classrooms. Once you've used the internet awhile, you'll find your own sites, but this should give you a start! If you have suggestions of sites to add to this list, please email Kay Rewerts or Mary Watson.

These are sites I recommend for those just starting to use the internet with their students as they integrate the internet into the curriculum. These are sites that teachers who are comfortable with using the internet have enthusiastically endorsed.

Thinkfinity

Thinkfinity is an outstanding project that has free, no ads, internet materials, lesson plans, recommended weblinks and activities online.

This site allows students (and teachers!) to create a bibliography by filling in the blanks. Creates both MLA and APA styles.

One of my favorite sites! This is a great site for graphing, getting writing ideas, etc.

This site, created by San Diego College of Education, includes internet projects for literature books, K12.

A great site to re-inforce vocabulary words.

This is a VERY popular site with teachers.

Includes themes, printables, and lesson plans for K12 teachers.

This site give links to newspapers online. Most can be searched by subject.

Apple Learning Interchange is a social network for educators with lesson ideas and in depth curriculum units.

I'm including these government sites because they contain so much information! The Smithsonian has a listing by content area. Thomas includes links to legislators. The National Parks include sites in almost every state. The CIA site includes the World Factbook which has lots of information on countries.
