Brief History of TBX Productions TBX originally started as a subsidiary of Ho-Bag Productions out of Ashland, Ohio. It slowly evolved into its current form over a period of several years. One of the first productions was a bachelor party video for founding member, Craig Sakal. The videotape was made to wish Craig well on his new marriage. While the founding members were still using the Ho-Bag name, they were becoming something… more. Craig was also responsible for a "Master Card" parody commercial, which should be posted to the Internet soon, once legal negotiations have reached an agreement (Translation: A member of TBX, who will remain nameless, exposed his posterior on film. Once he agrees to let it be shown to the world, we will post it. Until then, it will remain locked away for the protection of the general public.). Craig edited a vacation video, added music and dialogue, and came up with something brilliant. He inspired many of us to film more. (Translation: Blame him.) Then one fateful evening in April of 1999, Scott Schlosser and Brian Tomaselli were watching Star Wars fan films on the Internet. We had recently discovered Kevin Rubio's "Troops", and we wanted to see what else was out on the Internet. After viewing several other fan films, we soon came up with the simple idea of making our own. It was to be a "summer project". We had NO idea of what we were getting into. But even if we knew then what we know now, I think we still would have proceeded with filming the movie. A script was written, parts were cast, and the movie stepped into pre-production. It was about a month after the initial idea of filming that we got together for a production meeting. One of the goals was to come up with a name for ourselves. We wanted something original. It was David Wynn who proposed the name, "TBX". All the founding members were sworn to secrecy as to what the initials stood for. TBX Productions was born. Another goal for TBX is to keep filming movies. Challenge of the Sith and Conspiracy are hopefully just the first in a long line of productions by TBX.. Everyone involved grew up on "Star Wars" and we were heavily influenced by it. We wanted to make something in honor of the man who changed the course of our lives: George Lucas. If he happens to read this someday, we just want to say, "Thank you" |
