Calamity House Productions Presents:
A Letter From A Foxhole

Well...I’ve put if off long enough.  For the past year (maybe two) I’ve wanted to do a WWII film.  Yes, I’ve watched and am a fan of Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan, but I’m also someone who has sat and listened to the stories his Great Uncles have told about serving their country....and I want to pay some small tribute to them and the other men (and women) who served their country during the  Second World War.

Now...don’t get too excited, it’s still a long ways away. (at least another year).  Where am I in this process?  Well...I’ve found my inspiration for my story.  It comes from a book that I found on Amazon which really painted a vivid picture of a young soldier who died in Western France in 1945.

As I’m often told that I don’t have a real job (since I have summers off) I’m taking this time to write my script and begin to research some of the practical as well as digital effects that it may take to realize what I want to accomplish.

While CHP has one very nice camera (XL2) I want to be able to film Foxhole with two cameras.  This means that I have to save my pennies in order to get the camera that I truly want.  While I wait for that to happen (and no...its not an unrealistic goal)...I want to gather my resources for props and  costumes so that I can make sure that my short film pays tribute to the men and women who did not return home.
A Long Time Coming... Heroes My Great Uncle Johnny (Center) with his Father (left) and a friend (right) while on leave.
