What is the principle of Endermologie?
The LPG device is unique because of the patented action of the treatment
head that combines gentle suction with two active rollers, creating
a symmetrical skin fold. The skin is lifted by gentle suction,
while the rollers treat this skin fold. Various maneuvers
are applied first on the back, then on the buttocks, thighs, legs,
and finally on the abdomen for a 35 minute total body treatment.
Your Endermologie technician will individualize your treatment by
focusing on your cellulite-ridden areas.
How does it work?
Endermologie is like performing gymnastics on your skin and underlying
tissue; suction and motorized rollers massage your skin, thus exercising
it.
What is cellulite?
Cellulite is a skin condition, which affects more than 90% of women.
Directly related to hormonal variations, it also tends to worsen
with age. Resulting from microcirculation impairment; cellulite
is a vicious circle involving fluid retention, enlargment of fat
cells and an alteration of connective tissue. Cellulite occurs in
the subcutaneous fat layer just beneath the skin. In that area,
fat lobes coexist with strands of tissue. These vertical strands
connect the skin to its underlying muscle. Remember there are many
factors that contribute to the condition of body: physique, skin
tone, age, diet factors and exercise and proper hydration.
Why does the skin look dimpled?
Dimpling is caused by two main factors:
• Vertical connective tissue pulling down on the skin.
• Fluid retention and enlarged fat cells pushing up
on the skin.
Clinically, the appearance of cellulite is the result of enlarged
female hypodermic lobules, which give the skin the dimpled "cottage
cheese" look. Endermologie® manually increases the
blood flow in the skin, it is theorized that it stimulates enzymes
that encourage the fat cells to break down. The vacuum suction increases
the length of the vertical fibers and provides a rejuvenating elasticity.
The result: a smoother, vibrant look to the skin.
Do diet and exercise get rid of cellulite?
NO! Because cellulite is a complex problem, it must be addressed
from the subcutaneous layer, to act on fluid retention. Whereas
both diet and exercise affect deep fat, they fail to act on the
underlying cause of cellulite in the superficial tissue of your
skin. Even women who exercise regularly and follow low fat-diets
may still have cellulite.
Will anything help?
YES! Endermologie is a technique recognized worldwide which
has been proven for over 10 years. Administered with the LPC
family of therapeutic massagers, Endermologie is the first technique
recognized to fight the dimpled appearance of cellulite by temporarily
improving local circulation.
Does it really work? Have you seen results?
Yes, it does work, as demonstrated over the past 12 years in thousands
of case studies from around the world. It was enough proof
for the FDA to authorize the manufacturer to claim temporary reduction
in the appearance of cellulite. The FDA is renown for its strictest
scientific standards world-wide.
How many treatments can I have in one week?
The average number of treatments is two per week. If you are simultaneously
in the process of losing a significant amount of weight or if you
have a long-term problematic cellulite condition, one treatment
per week is recommended. More than two sessions per week will not
bring faster results.
How long does a session last? Do you work on just my problem areas?
Sessions last an average of 35 minutes. Your problem areas are focused
on, but time is given to other areas to stimulate general circulation
and elimination.
How many sessions before I see results?
Usually people see changes within 5 or 6 sessions, but 14 is the
average number of suggested treatments.
How long do the results last?
For several months up to a few years, depending on age, lifestyle,
and hormonal changes. Once-a-month maintenance sessions are recommended
after completion of the initial sessions.
How long do I have to wait after liposuction or a tummy tuck to
receive a treatment? Before receiving a treatment,
wait until the compressive garments come off, normally 4 to 6 weeks.
Does this replace diet and exercise?
No. In fact, it is highly recommended that you add diet and exercise
to the routine you follow while undergoing ENDERMOLOGIE® treatments.
In most cases, this improves results.
Does this treatment work on men also?
Definitely. For problem areas such as "love handles" and
loose pectoral tissues, results have been excellent.
Does the machine tone the skin? Will I lose weight?
You will most likely notice an improvement in skin tone after using
the machine. Appearance of stretch marks and loose skin may be improved.
It is not a weight loss machine. However, many clients report being
able to lose weight, especially fat weight, more easily while using
the machine than they ever could before.
What is the difference between ENDERMOLOGIE® and
liposuction? Can it be used instead of liposuction?
ENDERMOLOGIE®, unlike liposuction, does not involve breaking
through the skin in any way. Some people try ENDERMOLOGIE® first
and then choose to wait to receive liposuction. We frequently recommend
ENDERMOLOGIE® in addition to liposuction to get a better and
smother result from liposuction.
Why are photos taken before & after treatment?
Photos are taken to provide an accurate record of improvements and
to help the ENDERMOLOGIE® practitioner provide better treatments
through comparative analysis.
I don't want anyone to see my pictures. Do you protect
my privacy?
No one but your therapist and attendant staff will see your photos.
If you wish, and you sign a release to that effect, your photos
may be used for educational and promotional purposes.
Why are bodysuits or pantyhose worn when receiving treatment?
Pantyhose allows the ENDERMOLOGIE® treatment head to glide more
easily over the body and insures optimal hygiene.
What sensations will I experience during the treatment?
Does it hurt?
The sensation is similar to a deep massage. Most clients find it
quite pleasant. The strength of the treatment can be individually
adjusted to your comfort level.
What will I feel afterwards?
Most clients report a feeling of relaxation and an increase in energy.
Since the lymph system is stimulated, it is recommended that you
drink at least two liters of water every day during the duration
of your treatment in order to aid in elimination.
Are there any side effects?
Minor, temporary bruising may occur.
Can I receive treatments if I am pregnant?
No correlation has been found between ENDERMOLOGIE® and complications
in pregnancy. However, it is recommended that during pregnancy you
do NOT receive treatments.
How long has endermologie® been around?
Endermologie® has already swept most of Europe off its feet,
or perhaps more appropriately its hips, thighs and tummy, since
1985. From coast to coast, endermologie® is now sweeping the
U.S., after being introduced here in 1995.
How soon will I see results?
Usually patients see changes within 7 or 8 sessions, but 14 is the
average number of treatments recommended for maximum results.
How long does each session last?
Sessions last an average of 45 minutes. The main focus is placed
on your problem areas, but time is given to other areas to stimulate
microcirculation and fatty acid elimination.
Will endermologie® help improve my skin tone?
Improvement in skin tone is often noted after using the ES1 machine.
The appearance of stretch marks and loose skin are also frequently
improved.
Is this only for women, or does it work on men also?
It most definitely works on men. The problem areas reported by most
men are the infamous "love handles". Endermologie®
works marvelous on these "love handles" as well as other
problemsome areas.
Why are pictures taken before, during and after the
treatment program?
Photos are taken to help provide an accurate record of improvement.
These pictures also help aid the practitioner by providing them
with a comparative analysis so they can make improvements on future
endermologie® treatments.
What happens to these pictures?
Your pictures are placed away from your patient file and are numbered.
They are kept confidential. To ensure your privacy - photos never
contain your name or your face. If you wish, you may sign a release
to use your photos for educational and promotional purposes.
Is endermologie® painful?
No. It feels similar to a deep relaxing therapeutic massage. Most
patients look forward to their treatment.
Do endermologie® treatments replace diet and exercise?
No. If you are currently exercising and eating healthy, this will
not replace you current healthy lifestyle. It is not required to
start exercising and eating healthy in order to see results, but
it will allow you to achieve better results.
What is required of me to achieve noticeable results?
The most important change you must make, if you are not already
doing it, is to drink between 100 and 120 ounces of cold water every
day. This will allow you to see faster, longer lasting results.
Most people also try to walk a half hour each day to help further
improve their circulation and aid in the movement of fatty deposits.
I still have Cellulite after having liposuction, how
long do I have to wait before I can have endermologie® performed
on me?
Cellulite, or the cottage-cheese like appearance of the skin is
a problem that was not solved with the evolution of modern liposuction.
Check with your practitioner to see if enough time has elapsed to
receive an endermologie® treatment.
