Amira has been a musician since childhood , beginning with many years of classical violin, followed by Spanish guitar, then Indian sitar, bansuri flute, santoor and tabla. Music and art are closely woven together in her life , and she performs in many venues including galleries, weddings, schools, yoga centers and retreats.
She has been very fortunate to have the opportunity to study with some of the greatest master musicians of our time:

She studied North Indian classical flute with G.S. Sachdev, music theory and technique with Ali Akbar Khan, and tala (rhythm) with Zakir Hussain, and guitar with Alex de Grassi.
She is often seen in performance accompanying many of India's master musicians on tamboura, and has often accompanied vocalist Deepak Kumar on flute and guitar.
Amira has also appeared with Coleman Barks, musically interpreting his translations of thirteenth century poet, Jelaluddin Rumi, and has performed songs of Rumi with Micheal Green and the Illumination Band.
Her music is featured on several CDs, including: "Medicine Songs", by Harmony Grisman, "Suka Shanti", songs from Ananda Ashram, and "Kabbalistic Kirtan", by Yofiya.
