Tenkawa, Akito

A Martian-born boy who was childhood friends with Yurika Misumaru, growing up together in the Utopia Colony. On the day that Yurika and her parents left for Earth, Akito's family was killed in a mysterious explosion. During the initial Jovian assault on Mars, Akito did what he could to defend other colonists. Blacking out after becoming surrounded by the aliens, he somehow ended up on Earth as a fry cook. His memories of his past are a blur.

Akito was fired from his job due to his shaky nerves, Yurika literally running him over soon after. Trying to recover his lost childhood memories, Akito is enlisted as a cook aboard the Nadesico. He is soon befriended by Gai Daigoji and is thrown into becoming a mecha pilot. After Gai's tragic death, Akito inherits all of the late pilot's anime and becomes the resident Gekiganger 3 expert.
