Nagare, Akatsuki

Ace pilot of the ND-002 Cosmos, Akatsuki joins the Nadesico's pilots after the ND-001 returns to Earth. He's an interesting man, able to both show off and remain modest at the same time. He can be both a hot shot and a dedicated soldier. Still, it cannot be debated that he is a good pilot. He has talent. Shortly after coming aboard the Nadesico, Yurika catches his eye and he begins courting her, much to her displeasure. What can be debated are Akatsuki's true intentions. Nergal placed him and Erina on the Nadesico for a very specific reason. The reason? Akatsuki placed himself there. Only two people can remove Nadesico's master key... The captain and the CEO of Nergal.

Despite some fire, as the animation draws to a close, Akatsuki and Nergal are the Nadesico's only friend.
