I found Berlin to be a dark, cold, dreary place. I probably should not have visited in late November. Despite the general physical atmosphere, there is an energy and exicitement underlaying the town. The massive construction projects in what was East Berlin create jungles of equipment.
A walk up to the center of the Tiergarten is rewarded upon climbing the central tower.
Tegernsee is a small lake and town that is roughly south of Munich, cradled at the edge of the Bavarian Alps. The day I got there it started snowing, and by the next day there was about a meter piled up everywhere. I am not a big fan of snow, but this was gorgeous. I do not think that I have enjoyed snow more than my few days in Tegernsee.
